Child version

Here is what happens to your information (also known as personal data) when you use Rollama.

If you want help to read this page, please ask your parent, carer, or your teacher, who will help you understand it.

Who makes Rollama?

We are called Rollama Education. We made Rollama to help you learn English.

What information do you know about me?

Your teacher, parent, carer, or another adult has shared some small bits of information about you, like your name.

If you’re a school user then your teacher may have given us your name, your year group, your class, and the name of your school. If your parent, carer, or tutor has signed up, they have probably only given us your name

Your school may also provide extra information about you to help them know how you’re getting on based on certain things about you, such as your gender or pastoral group (e.g. Gryffindor House).

Please ask your teacher if you would like to know more about this.

What information do I give you, what do you do with it and why?

When you play Rollama, we collect other pieces of information about you, such as:

-       Your answers to questions and how many points you get on different games. This information helps us know how you’re doing and what tasks to suggest next. This can also help your teachers, parents, carers, or responsible adult know how well you’re doing so that they can help you improve your English, give certificates, and make leaderboards.

-       Information about whether you’re using the app or the website and which version you’re using. That allows us to help you better if there’s a technical issue.

What if I message you on social media?

If you email us or message us on social media, then we can collect:

-       Your email address or social media name and what you say to us – for example, you may email us if something is not working properly or if you want to suggest how we can improve Rollama

-       You can relax because we will only collect the minimum information necessary so that you can enjoy the site.

Who else gets to see my information?

-       Your teachers, parents, carers, or tutor will be able to see how you are getting on.

-       The individuals and companies who help to build Rollama. We make sure they know how to protect your information and they sign an agreement.

How long do you keep my information?

-       We will only keep information about you until it is deleted by your teacher, parent, carer, or tutor, or by us 90 days after your school, family or tutor subscription has ended.

Will you ever change what you do with my information?

-       Sometimes the law changes or we are told to do things differently. When this happens, we might have to change these promises, but we will always let you know if anything big changes.

What shall I do if I need help?
